Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga: Gippy Grewal hunting for a hit without ensemble cast

Gippy Grewal hunting for a hit: The superstar continues to shoulder responsibility for a wholly box-office success.

Seldom overwrought by the lack of success achieved by his movie(s), Gippy Grewal is at his fingertips with another Punjabi movie titled 'Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga'.

Set to launch another director in Vikas Vashisht under his production label named Humble Motion Pictures, Grewal-starer Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga will follow many Punjabi movies which released in anticipation of becoming a box-office success but fell short by a considerable margin.

For starters, Punjabi film industry hasn't had the fortune of witnessing a hit movie in the last three and a half months. While a handful of movies were praiseworthy or did well abroad in this period, the dearth of a wholly box-office success on the back of its India collections is worrisome.

In such a situation, it is but obvious and understandable why the industry has whacking great expectations from Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga.

Known for promoting his movies in a way like no one else does in the state, there is no hiding to the fact that Grewal has set the tone for something triumphant. Whether this hustle and bustle will get converted into box-office numbers or not will only be known on September 2 but Grewal deserves applauds for trying to the best of his abilities. A primary example of the same is the Desi Rockstar already conducting the first premier of his movie five days before its release.

Considering Grewal's stature, settling for a semi-hit would be a bit off. At this point in time, only a proper commercial success will do justice to Grewal's stardom. While the movie could have other laudable performances, it would be hard to deny that the first pull towards the cinema halls will be because of Grewal only.

Shoulding responsibility not just for himself but for the whole industry this time, Grewal is doing the same without an ensemble cast on this particular occasion.

Grewal, who doesn't shy away from distributing credit or working in a team, doesn't have the same support in a movie which isn't really a multi-starer affair.

The same can be judged from the social media post which announced Yaar Mera Titliaan Warga's trailer becoming the most viewed trailer in the history of the Punjabi industry. Grewal, whose movies' posters usually don't have space left to fit in another face in the general run of things, is working with the likes of Tanu Grewal, Karamjit Anmol and Raj Dhaliwal in this movie.

The last time when Grewal worked with so less number of actors in a movie was in 2019. Perhaps things have coincidentally panned out in such a way to hint at ending Grewal's hunt for a hit on his own on this Friday. Hopefully!
