Gaurav Trehan's 'Hashar' will undoubtedly go down as one of the best movies of legendary Punjabi singer, Babbu Maan. Released in 2008, the movie went on to become a landmark name amongst the youth for it covered two crucial topics related to the youth in love and student politics. It also threw light on how politicians use the youngsters for their personal gains. Maan played the role of Maninder, with utmost poise. Maninder falls in love with Shagan (Gurleen Chopra) only to be later confronted by some misunderstandings which sours their relation. Mahima Mehta played the role of Preet, Maninder's sister. Jolly (Rana Ranbir), Maninder's friend, was an well-portrayed character in the movie. The fact that circumstances were set in a way which didn't allow Maninder and Shagan to unite at the climax was the USP of the movie.
