A no slouch name in India’s entertainment industry, Diljit Dosanjh, released his second single track of the year yesterday. Having gained approbation due to ‘El Sueño’ a couple of months ago, Dosanjh is all set to come face to face with triumph in ‘Raat Di Gedi’.

The song was released on the official YouTube channel of Speed Records. At the time of writing this article, it has received in excess of 2.5 million views and is trending at #1 on the same platform.

The song has been musically directed by Jatinder Shah, someone who needs no formal presentation. In what is a Speed Records and Famous Studios Presentation, the music video of the song is directed by Arvindr Khaira, a cardinal name in the field of direction in the contemporary Punjabi music industry. The lyrics of the song have been penned down by Ranbir Shah. The engaging nature of the music video goes in accordance with the ravishing lyrics.

Something which has been the biggest upshot for the Punjabi audience in Raat Di Gedi is that it has reunited one of Punjabi cinema’s most relished on-screen couple in Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa. The ‘Jatt & Juliet’ couple has appeared together for the first time in two years after the 2015-film ‘Sardaar Ji’. Notwithstanding the hiatus, not for a split second does one think that the celebrated duo has lost an inch of chemistry. Such is the level of fellowship between the two of them.

Raat Di Gedi is also likely to take the breadth away from Bajwa’s fans for she has appeared only once on the tabloid this year. To see her in a bewitching music video along with Dosanjh (and his lull voice in the background) would have been icing on the cake for them. Having appeared in Gippy Grewal’s ‘Daang’ (2011) and Jassie Gill’s ‘Vich Pardesan’ (2014) earlier, this is her third appearance in single tracks.
