Action to be the focal point in 'Rang Panjab': Rakesh Mehta's second movie will be based on an infrequent genre in the Punjabi film industry.

Although walking on obscure paths has it own opportunities, it requires strength of character on the part of an individual for only then can one stand tall in these journeys. The same is the case with the action genre in the Punjabi film industry.

In an era of comical blockbuster projects, convincing the audiences to watch a comparatively dark action movie can be a daunting task. The general notion of the viewers expecting comedy to be a significant part of each and every Punjabi movie is dangerous for both the entities - audiences and filmmakers.

In such onerous circumstances, finding an appropriate balance should become the priority of the folks working in the industry. There is no hiding to the fact that comical projects bring with them high commercial value (necessary for any industry to prosper), but then the monetary benefit isn't everything, is it? The fickle nature of the audiences will force them to move away from this genre one day, leaving everyone in tatters.

Hence, in a bid to work wonders for the Punjabi film industry as a whole, equal importance should be given to other genres as well for then only the optimum results will come.

One such movie which promises to be a success by the looks of its trailer is Rakesh Mehta's 'Rang Panjab'. Starring Deep Sidhu in a lead role, the movie will revolve around the prevalent crime in the state and how a police officer fights against all the odds to clean the overall system.

Notwithstanding that his previous movie in 'Jora 10 Numbaria' was a coup in terms of its quality, one cannot ignore the fact that it bombed at the box-office. For Sidhu to again perform a role in a movie of a similar genre speaks highly about him being mettlesome about his craft and hopeful about the audiences responding in a much better way this time round.

With the movie set to be released on November 23, it is now up to the audiences to roll out the red carpet for Rang Panjab in cinema halls near them.
