The entertainment industry has been rocked by another alarming incident, as actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his role alongside Akshay Kumar in Welcome, was reportedly kidnapped and tortured for ransom. The incident occurred on November 20, while he was traveling to attend an event in Meerut.
According to Bijnor police, Mushtaq Khan was abducted on the Delhi-Meerut highway. His kidnappers diverted his car to an undisclosed location, where they held him for nearly 12 hours. This revelation comes amidst the recent abduction case involving comedian Sunil Pal, raising serious concerns about the safety of actors in India.
The police have registered a case based on a statement provided by the event manager who had arranged Khan’s appearance in Meerut. Preliminary investigations suggest that the abduction was orchestrated under the guise of inviting him to the event.
Shivam Yadav, Khan’s business partner, provided further details, stating that after arriving at Delhi airport on November 20, Khan was escorted into a car that was supposed to take him to the event venue. However, the car was redirected, and Khan was subjected to torture by the kidnappers, who demanded a ransom of ?1 crore.
When Khan could not meet their demands, the abductors allegedly forced him to transfer ?2 lakh from his and his son’s accounts.
The police are now actively investigating the incident and working to identify the perpetrators behind this act. The case highlights growing concerns about the safety of public figures and the need for enhanced security measures.
Mushtaq Khan’s ordeal has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community, with many calling for swift justice and stricter laws to prevent such incidents in the future.
