Singga Expresses Safety Concerns for Himself and Family After Receiving Threats

Punjabi singer Manpreet Singh, popularly known as Singga, raised the alarm over the safety of his family after revealing that he has been under constant surveillance. The singer shared that this ongoing monitoring had forced him to move residences multiple times. He also questioned the Punjab Police about how many more times he would have to relocate before they could ensure his safety.

Singga took to Instagram on Tuesday to address his concerns, writing in Punjabi: "I hope you all are doing well. For a long time, I have been under surveillance, which has compelled me to change my house 2-3 times. I want to ask the Punjab Police—how many more times will I have to move for the safety of my family? How many threats have I received? How many times has my car been followed?"

The singer further stated that he would provide more details after the festival of Holi.

In 2023, Singga was booked after an FIR was lodged against him for his 2022 track Still Alive. The complaint accused him of promoting obscenity and glorifying gun culture in the song. The Kapurthala Police named five individuals, including Singga, under Sections 294 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint, filed by the chief of the Bhimrao Yuva Force, alleged that Singga's lyrics encouraged the youth of Punjab to take the "wrong path" by promoting weapons in his music.
