Ardab Mutiyaran success: Punjabi Mania dissects why the recently released Punjabi movie is being liked by one all in the state.
Directed by Manav Shah, the recently released Punjabi movie titled ‘Ardab Mutiyaran‘ witnessed Sonam Bajwa, Ninja, Ajay Sarkaria, Mehreen Pirzada, BN Sharma, Upasana Singh, Sudesh Lehri, Rajeev Mehra, Navneet Nishan, Inderpal Singh, Cheshtha Bhagat and Myra Singh playing pivotal roles.
The movie has opened on an affirmative note. While the movie is being liked by most of the viewers throughout the state, it has also registered a handsome box-office collection in its first two days of business.
While it is too early to calculate or predict the movie’s exact profitability, let us go through some factors which have already declared the movie as another successful venture produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu under the banner of White Hill Studios.
Ardab Mutiyaran success
Women-oriented messaging on point
Director Manav Shah and writer Dheeraj Rattan not just justified the title of the movie for the sake of it but provided food for thought regarding how women are treated at home and how they should be treated.
The movie is no documentary giving life lessons but surely offers solutions which are not related to rocket science but are likely to be effective in their own simple way in every household.
It would have been an achievement for any Punjabi movie attempting something of this sort. With Ardab Mutiyaran delivering the same, it is likely to go down as one of the top movies this year.
Box-office collection
Ardab Mutiyaran has registered the highest-ever opening for a women-oriented Punjabi movie. As mentioned above, it is early to predict the overall figures of the movie but one can’t really ignore the solid start registered at the box-office.
Unusual but effective cast
While Punjabi filmmakers usually don’t take the risk of including too many new actors, it is another area where Ardab Mutiyaran has yielded success. Barring Sonam Bajwa, all of Ninja, Mehreen Pirzada and Ajay Sarkaria are comparatively new in the Punjabi film industry.
While Bajwa has arguably registered a career-best performance, both Ninja and Pirzada have shown significant improvement from their previous movies. Sarkaria, who made his debut in the movie, didn’t for once let one believe that this is his first-ever work in the Punjabi industry.
Other than this foursome, roping in supporting actors like Sudesh Lehri, Rajeev Mehra, Cheshtha Bhagat and Myra Singh also worked wonders for the movie.
Praiseworthy music
As mentioned in our music review, Ardab Mutiyaran doesn’t bog its viewers down with uncalled for songs. It is another part of Punjabi film making which the makers of this movie have successfully contradicted. An apt mix of quality and quantity with respect to the songs is one of the highlights of the movie.
