Ashke, the new film with the combo of Amberdeep Singh, Amrinder Gill and Rhythm Boyz Entertainment opened in Cinemas on this Friday had an all right total given that there was hardly any marketing for the film and on Saturday the film really came into its own. Ashke had a huge leap in collections all over East Punjab as almost all multiplexes collections were more than double of their Friday numbers. The growth from Friday to Saturday collections in East Punjab was 225%.
The film managed to collect decent in East Punjab on its Day 2. Saturday onwards the film is starting to do well at multiplexes of A centres in Punjab be it Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala or Bathinda. The advance really picked up Saturday afternoon onwards and even the Sunday numbers are expected to be in the range of 1 Crore or even more.
Another favour which adds in the favour of Ashke is the Box Office Revenue coming from overseas. The film grew 800% in Australia on Day 2 and even in Canada there were hardly any tickets available for the viewers as most of the shows were sold out and same was the case in most of the theaters in United States where the film is being screened.
Rhythm Boyz Entrainment have had a successful run of films at the Box Office be it Bambukat, Love Punjab, Vekh Barattan Challiyan, Angrej or the recent Golak Bugni Bank Te Batuaa and it is only one of the 2 Production Houses in Punjab who take their Marketing Efforts pretty seriously and this time people might think that there wasn’t any effort put to promote Ashke.
People might think of it as a gimmick or whatever, but Ashke has really come into its own at the Box Office and if this momentum continues, we will not be surprised if the Monday collection of the film is higher than Friday. The film has the next week pretty open as there is no major release and the film will have a chance to sustain well over the next 3-4 weeks at the Box Office.
In our review of Ashke, we had mentioned Ashke has a winner written all over it. It is an entertaining film that mixes emotions, humour and drama together. Amberdeep, Amrinder, Karaj Combo does it yet again. This film should be watch for a few simple reasons: It’s well made, It’s Entertaining, It’s meant for the Families to be seen together.
