Crackerjack Punjabi singer-turned-actor, Ranjit Bawa, who has delivered some all-time blockbuster Punjabi songs in his limited career so far, is all set to appear on the tabloid for the fourth time this year. For an actor who made his debut in Sarvann earlier this year, this achievement is no mean one. His latest venture, 'Bhalwan Singh' is all set to hit the big screen on this Friday, i.e., November 27.
The trailer of the movie was released in the fag end of September and has received more than 1.5 million views on YouTube until now. Bawa, who has donned various roles in all his three movies so far, is all set to appear in a new avatar this time round. Acting in and as Bhalwan Singh, this movie appears to be a transformation journey of a free and easy person named Bhalwan (Bawa) to someone who keeps the pride of his village alive in front of the Britishers.
Playing the lead actress opposite to Bawa in the movie is spoken highly of Canadian video blogger (or vlogger), Navpreet Banga. She is making her debut in the Punjabi film industry in this movie. Karamjit Anmol, Manav Vij, Rana Jung Bahadur and Mahabir Bhullar will be seen playing pivotal roles in the movie.
The movie is produced by Amiek Virk, Karaj Gill and Jaspal Singh Sidhu under the banners of Nadar Films and J Studio in association with Rhythm Boyz Entertainment. Harsimran Waraich, 7T-One Films, Tung Films and Next Level Productions are the co-producers. It will be Param Shiv’s directorial debut. The story has been penned down by Sukhraj Singh and the screenplay and dialogues by Karan Sandhu and Dheeraj Kumar. The movie is musically directed by Gurmoh. Bir Singh has written the songs of the movie which is edited by Manish More.
By and large, film makers tend not to release their movie in the weekend following the grand Diwali week in India. Having already taken this brave decision, this can work, both, in favour of and against Bhalwan Singh. With 'Golmaal Again' dominating the collections at the box-office and 'Secret Superstar' and 'Dangar Doctor Jelly' also doing well, a stern task lies in front of Bhalwan Singh.
One factor which might work in the affirmative for Bawa is his fan base. Citing the praise of his role in 'Vekh Baraatan Challiyan' in mind, people who look up to him are likely to visit the cinema halls. Having said that, if you are one of them, do hit the theatres on this Friday and tell us your views about the movie.
