Binnu Dhillon on Jhalle: "It will take the Punjabi industry to a step ahead"

Binnu Dhillon on Jhalle: The illustrious actor-turned-producer expressed confidence with respect to his imminent Punjabi movie.

Just as the second half of Binnu Dhillon and Sargun Mehta’s first movie together titled Kala Shah Kala starts, there is this sequence where Mehta scares Dhillon after getting married to him against her will. What comes as frightening for Dhillon becomes hilarious for the audiences.

In a latest interview with Punjabi Mania, Mehta disclosed how that sequence was liked by the viewers and said (jokingly) that it became a reference point for the pair’s imminent movie titled Jhalle‘.

“We observed that people really liked when Binnu ji was scared of me [in Kala Shah Kala]. We received so many messages that we thought of making a separate movie [laughs],” Mehta was quoted as saying.

That being said, Jhalle isn’t just about scaring Dhillon. The movie has multiple novel facets to it to an extent that a desired execution has it in it to work wonders. Being asked about the same, Mehta expressed excitement at getting to play a contrasting character.

“Every artist wants to play such a character. As artists, we both [herself and Dhillon] are very happy. People tend to play safe in the Punjabi industry. Having got to experiment this time, we are very excited,” Mehta said.

Binnu Dhillon on Jhalle

Dhillon, who has seen the industry evolve since the start of this century, has played numerous roles across both lengths and genres. Someone of his experience laying emphasis on novelty in Jhalle prepares the audiences for expecting something out of the box.

“It’s a great feeling. It’s a new character for me. For the other characters, you pick hints from people around you. But I had to put in a lot of concentration for this character. There’s a very thin line which you have to take care of. I have worked very hard for this,” Dhillon added.

While concepts such as this are accompanied by nerves, Dhillon remains unperturbed about the outcome of the movie which will release on this Friday (November 15). Furthermore, Dhillon ensured that Jhalle will take the Punjabi industry to a step ahead.
