Sardaarji 2 broke the record for the Highest Opening Day in East Punjab which was set by Sardaarji last year. Last year, Sardaarji faced no competition at all from other film whereas this time 7 new Hindi films and 1 Hollywood film released alongside and many films continued from previous weeks. Despite facing the competition, Sardaarji 2 managed to hold fort and set the record though by a very minute margin. The film collected Rs 2.05 Crores to break the record by Rs 3 Lacs.
Day 2 Box Office (East Punjab)
Sardaarji 2 continued with huge numbers on its second day as it grossed a little under 3 crore nett across India. The two day all India business of the film is 5.50-5.75 crore nett which is the highest two day figure ever for a Punjabi film. The business of the film in East Punjab is 2.05 crore nett on day one and 2.12 crore nett on the second day. The East Punjab figures are the same as the earlier instalment which released last year due to the screenings which are less and more competition from other films.

Sardaarji 2 was outstanding on Sunday as it grossed around Rs. 2.49 crore to take its first weekend total to a huge Rs. 6.66 crore in East Punjab region. The film could have gone even further, had there been more shows. The film is a huge hit and already the fourth highest grossing Punjabi film of the year after Ambarsariya, Love Punjab and Ardaas and will beat all 3 of them by the end of the week or 2nd weekend.

Technically, the 2nd week ended on Tuesday itself because Salman Khan starrer Sultan released on Wednesday and the film got most of the screen space in the region. But however, Sardaarji 2 has managed to bag atleast 1-2 shows at most of the cinemas. The film should end it’s run in East Punjab at around Rs. 14 Crores which will place it at No. 2 in the All Time highest grossers of Live Action Punjabi films.
