The National Award winning film Chann Pardesi is one of the biggest films of the Punjabi cinema. Chann Pardesi not only won hearts after its release in 1980, but also left a deep impression on the audience and fans who vividly remember each scene of the film.

The film had a grand starcast consisting of big cinema legends including Amrish Puri, Om Puri, Raj Babbar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Sushma Seth. The starcast also included many polished actors like Mehar Mittal, Sunita Dhir, Rajni Sharma and Rama Vij. The film became a blockbuster hit and changed the shape of Punjabi cinema all together. The movie is today regarded as the greatest film of Punjabi film industry.

After more than four decades of its release, the legendary film- Chann Pardesi is being re-released by the father-son duo Dr. Chaanan Singh Sidhu and filmmaker Simran Sidhu, as a tribute to the cinema legends who were a part of the film and also to pay homage to the late actors Amrish Puri, Om Puri and Mehar Mittal.

The movie has been re-mastered by the father son duo. Dr. Chaanan’s connection with the movie goes way back to the time when the writer of this film-Baldev Gill who was also Dr. Sidhu’s friend, started working on the script of the movie. In order to celebrate ‘40 years of Chann Pardesi’s release’, Dr. Chaanan Sidhu bought the rights of the film, and arranged its re-release on the big screen.

The movie will hit the silver screens on 27 May 2022 and is all set to recreate its magic. The fans are super excited for the release and are all geared up to witness the charm and nostalgia of the superhit film.
