In a bid to entertain the audiences, the modern-day artists are not afraid of donning multiple hats at the same time. So often have we seen singers signing acting assignments (and doing well at that) and vice-versa. Shifting of roles isn't just limited for the singers. Lyricists are turning into actors and actors into producers and so on.

Portraying sundry roles on or behind the screen gives more opportunities to an artist to present his case in front of the audiences. Perhaps, it is the same notion which has motivated an aspiring artist in Rajbir Vats, who will be seen making his debut as a model in a music video next week. If things fall into place, he will be seen acting in movies and singing single-tracks in the times to come.

In an interview with Punjabi Mania, he revealed that becoming an actor was his childhood dream. "I have been acting since my school days. Followed it during my college time as well. I have even worked on a documentary on Chandigarh.", he told Punjabi Mania.

A graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Vats added, "During my time in London, I learnt the British style of acting. Upon my return to India, I joined Alankar theatre and learnt traditional Indian acting." He will make his maiden appearance in Kamal Khan's upcoming song named 'Rooh'. Throwing light on the song, he further added, "It is a Hindi song sung by Kamal Khan ji. I won't say that it is exclusively for the Punjabi music industry. Since it is in Hindi, it will cater to a pan-India audience. The teaser of the song is releasing alongside Race 3 in all PVR cinemas of our country. To promote the song, we have planned press conferences in five different cities - Chandigarh, Jalandhar, New Delhi, Rajasthan and Mumbai."

On being asked as to why this song is being extensively advocated in Punjab, he answered, "This is a Bollywood song. But I think that no one represents music better than the Punjabi industry in our country, not even Bollywood."

"We are waiting for the release of the song. Upon its response (hopefully constructive), we will plan to take a further action on our other projects which have already been penned down." On being asked as to what he will choose between Bollywood and the Punjabi film industry, he said, "Acting in Bollywood is my childhood dream. That said, we can't neglect the fact that the Punjabi industry is growing. As an actor, I would like to do more character roles which I think are less in the number in the Punjabi industry. So, my first aim is Bollywood but if I get a quality role in the Punjabi industry, I will do my best to do justice with it."

On being asked about what would be his ideal role in his first movie, he said, "I usually prefer romantic roles. So, an intense romantic role would be the ideal blend for me. I feel that it is very eye-catching and can attract the audiences. If we talk about 'Rooh', my character in this video is related to my likes."

On being asked about the struggles in his journey so far, he voiced, "I take this notion in a different manner. Anyone who doesn't find work is labelled as struggling in his/her field. I think that if an individual utilises this so-called struggle period doing his homework, it will obviously help in polishing his craft. I did a lot of theatrical plays which helped me in the long run."

Here is wishing Rajbir Vats loads of luck for his upcoming music video and all other projects.
