Before Aujla SZN 1 reached streaming services, Karan Aujla gave the project a physical address. On September 22, visitors entered Select City Walk in Saket, New Delhi, in scheduled slots for “Two EPs, One Room”—an installation built around the two-part Aujla SZN campaign.

Experiential designer and art director Aaquib Wani is credited with creating the artwork for that installation. His role offers a revealing look at the creative labour surrounding a major Punjabi music release: the project was presented as a space fans could enter, rather than only as cover art passing through their feeds.

Two records became two rooms

The installation divided the venue into two creative worlds, each connected to one of Aujla’s planned EPs. Visitors could see physical artwork and hear snippets of unreleased music before the first chapter arrived. The harder, rap-led identity associated with Aujla SZN 1 occupied one side of the idea, while the second project was introduced as its more melodic counterpart.

That division gave the campaign an unusually clear organising principle. “Two EPs, One Room” was not simply a slogan attached to an online reveal; the room itself explained how the two releases belonged together while retaining separate identities. Scheduled entry also made the unveiling a fan experience with a beginning, a route and a destination.

Wani’s documented credit is specific. He shaped the experiential artwork and installation, but that does not make him the author of every video, photograph, outfit or image in the wider rollout. Keeping that boundary intact makes his contribution more interesting, not less: his job was to turn the campaign’s central idea into an environment.

A release designed as a sequence

The approach has a precedent in Wani’s work with Aujla. In a first-person account of its creative direction for the P-Pop Culture India tour, Aaquib Wani Design described a three-act live world combining stage design, visual language, choreography and technology. The studio also cited engineered elements including lifts, zipline entries and large-scale reveals.

That account describes the studio’s own work, but it establishes a consistent method. A concert was organised as a three-act progression; the EP campaign became two connected spaces. In both cases, design supplied structure around the music, guiding how an audience moved through the larger idea.

Aujla SZN 1 was released on September 25 as a five-track EP and the first half of the announced two-part series. As Punjabi Mania’s release report details, five videos form part of the rollout. The Delhi installation had a different job: it introduced the world around those songs before listeners could play the first chapter.

That is Wani’s clearest contribution to this campaign. He gave the two-EP concept a threshold, separated its identities in space and let fans cross into Aujla SZN before the record itself arrived.
