The release of Amrinder Gill’s upcoming flick, Love Punjab has been preponed. The film which was originally supposed to release on March 25, 2016 will now hit theaters two weeks in advance. With Tips announcing March 25, the release date for Ambarsariya, it was expected that Love Punjab might change its release date.
But the decision to change it to March 11 amuses a few, since the same day will mark Gippy Grewal’s directorial debut Ardaas’s release. Amberdeep Singh who happens to be the story writer of Love Punjab announced the news of change in release date in a Facebook status. He also emphasised the fact, that the film is produced by the real producers of Angrej, Rhythm Boys, J Studio and Dara Productions.
Aman Khatkar who has been credited as a producer in Love Punjab, was left out from Amberdeep’s status. Interestingly Aman Khatkar is a producer in Ardaas. The change of release date to that of Ardaas can be because of some personal issues between the makers of Love Punjab and Aman Khatkar. But in a broader spectrum, their rivalry will hurt Punjabi cinema, which is already struggling.
