Malaika Arora Opens Up About New Tattoo and Moving Forward After Breakup with Arjun Kapoor

Malaika Arora has always been in the spotlight for her personal life, and 2024 has been a particularly challenging year for her. The actress lost her father, Anil Mehta, in September, and shortly before that, she ended her relationship with Arjun Kapoor. In a recent interview, Malaika opened up about her new tattoo, its significance, and her outlook on life post-breakup.

The Meaning Behind Her New Tattoo

Malaika’s latest tattoo, which reads "sabr shukr" (patience and gratitude), caught attention when she appeared at a recent red carpet event. Speaking to The Times of India, she explained that getting inked is something she does at significant turning points in her life.

"I don’t get tattoos just for the sake of it; they hold deep personal meaning for me. This particular one symbolizes everything that 2024 has been for me. The words ‘patience’ (sabr) and ‘gratitude’ (shukr) are very comforting. When I reflect on where I am today compared to a year ago, these words truly resonate with me."

She added that tattoos serve as symbols of memories and thoughts she wants to carry with her forever.

A Personal Tradition of Tattoos

Malaika also revealed that the last time she got inked was eight years ago, following her divorce from Arbaaz Khan. That tattoo, which featured three birds in flight, symbolized a new chapter in her life.

"Each tattoo represents a milestone in my journey. The birds in flight marked a new phase back then, just like this new tattoo marks a different kind of growth and acceptance today."
