The story has already been known to many but what is important is the screenplay of the film. To be honest, there’s not a moment which will make your eyes blink. The tight screenplay has enough to teach you as well as entertain you at the best. It is a victory for the Punjabi industry to showcase such a prominent topic at a massive level. The story will hook you to your seats and will make every community proud but you will feel even more proud if you are a part of the Sikh Community.
The sacrifice and courage they showed towards the wrong acts will also be remembered till the end. Mastaney must be a must-watch film in the Punjabi industry. The film has all the elements, be it comedy, emotional, love, inspiring or entertaining.
Now coming to the direction and screenplay, Sharan Art deserves all the praise and appreciation. Be it conceptualizing the set of Mastaney or presenting it to big screens, Sharan Art’s movie has all the vibe. There are very minute points where we can see failed graphics but everything is fair for such a great piece. Also, the cinematography of Jaype Singh has added more oomph to the film as many of the time the frames are pivotal parts of the screenplay.
Now, heading towards the acting & dialogues, the film's stellar star cast includes Tarsem Jassar, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, Honey Mattu, Baninder Bunny, Rahul Dev, Avtar Gill, Arif Zakaria, Simi Chahal and many more. Their dialogue delivery is amazing and we can see perfection as well as freshness in every artist’s dialogue. Nobody went offbeat or seemed irritating. But one who deserves a standing ovation is Gurpreet Ghuggi who essayed as Kalandar.
He has a good hold over the entire film. Tarsem Jassar’s looks and personality totally changed when he realized about the Sikhism and meaning of Ardaas. Apart from them, watching Karamjit Anmol, Honey Mattu and Baninder Bunny in fighting sequences is a treat to our eyes. They have not made themselves into comic acts yet serious acts too. Further, Bollywood artists Rahul Dev, Avtar Gill and Arif Zakaria have won our hearts with their negative roles. Apart from this, female lead Simi Chahal’s little dreams can be related to every girl out there.
Now, the BGM & songs of the movie also earn some attention. The ambience or Fighting sound is utterly shown in Mastaney. One gets more thrilled and excited after every screenplay. All the songs are amazing especially Shehzada which has vocals of singers like Tarsem Jassar, Amrit Maan and Kulbir Jhinjer.
The five years of hard work has been shown in 135 minutes on big screens, what can be added is the description of Sikh History. But all in all the film is par excellence, you can surely watch it with your family, friends and loved ones.
Only massive sets or commendable star cast is not the USP of Mastaney, but it is a story that should reach everyone and which has also been presented beautifully. Not only this, if you didn’t understand some parts, the film has subtitles for you. So, don’t forget to buy your tickets.
