Rating: 2/5
It’s a Jimmy Shergill Production’s movie. It stars Diljit Dosanjh. Surveen Chawla is acting in it. It’s written by Dheeraj Rattan. If reading all this forms a perception in your mind that the movie will be happening, then you might be wrong in the case of Saadi Love Story.
Preeti(Surveen Chawla) who is a die hard romantic, waits for her prince charming, who would come some day and sweep her off the ground. But when two boys show up on their door claiming to be the one that Preeti’s sister Gurleen(Neetu Singh) had chosen to spend her life with, Preeti and her family finds themselves in a dilemma. They hear to the love stories of both Rajveer, one an aspiring photographer (Amrinder Gill) and the other an aspiring singer (Diljit Dosanjh).
Acting wise Diljit and Surveen have done a good job. Amrinder Gill looks average on screen, whereas Neetu Singh was not at all good. Her acting was way behind the Punjabi standards. Leave her acting, her obesity futher makes her unpleasant on the screen. The movie is directed by Dheeraj Rattan who has done a satisfactory job.
This Dheeraj Rattan movie has numerous flaws in the story line up. Overwhelmed with emotions, the script has little space for comedy, the forte of successful Punjabi movies. The overweighed Neetu Singh further hurts the charisma of the movie. The only delights in the movie were Diljit Dosanjh and Surveen Chawla’s acting, also Kunal Ganjawala’s voice in the title track and the guest appearances by biggies Jimmy Shergill, Neeru Bajwa and Ranvijay Singh.
Our verdict is: Saadi Love Story is disappointing!!!
We give the movie 2 out of 5 stars.
