‘Mr. & Mrs. 420 Returns will set a new mark in comedy’- Payal Rajput

Payal Rajput is a popular name in the Hindi television and she became an overnight rage in the Telegu film industry after her performance in the super hit Telegu movie Rx 100, in which she played the main female lead. She is extremely excited for her second Punjabi film and she would be seen starring opposite Ranjit Bawa in the movie

Payal Rajput had shared her experience of working in this film exclusively with Punjabi Mania . Here are a few excerpts from her conversation with Punjabi Mania.

Q. Tell us something about the movie .

A. The movie is a comedy film and it would be releasing on August 15. It’s a very good movie like the first part . I feel really blessed that I’m a part of the sequel now .

Q. You are a new addition to the cast of ‘Mr. & Mrs. 420’ . How was the experience with the whole team?

A. The experience was great. The production house is really good . I am playing a very different character where I won’t be doing any comedy but comedy would revolve around my character. Script wise , the movie is very good and I’m sure that it is going to set some mark this time in comedy.

Q. Tell us something about your character in the film.

A. I am playing a psychiatrist in the film and Ranjit Bawa would be playing a drug addict . So the story revolves around this and my character tries to help him get rid of drugs. This topic is very relatable in Punjab in today’s time. It’s a very big thing to make someone get rid of drugs and it’s not an easy task . So, I think I’m playing a very strong character in the movie and I am sure that people are going to love me for this because my character is based on the current situation. That is the reason why I chose this role.

Q. You are working with Ranjit Bawa for the first time. How has the experience been ?

A. I had worked with Ninja in my first movie and this is my second movie here where I have worked with Ranjit . I felt really good working with him. Working with him is really fun and he is a very down to earth person . He is a very good singer also and I listen to his songs too. It was very comfortable working with him.

Q. How was the experience of being directed by Ksshitij Chaudhary?

A. After Pankaj Batra, I was very scared about whom I’m going to work with because Pankaj Batra is a perfectionist. But yes, Ksshitij Chaudhary is a very good director and has a very clear vision. He is very simple and sober and it was a great experience.

Q. You are doing a comedy movie for the first time. Are you fond of comedy and how was it to be a part of a comedy film ?

A. This movie is a light comedy and very different from what I’ve done till now. I like comedy but i am a little scared of it as my genre is more of serious kind of acting. This is my first time but my other movies which will release later this year are also comedy films. I am very happy that I’ve entered into this genre too.

Q. You’ve done television and you’ve also been part of films . What are you planning to do further?

A. My last serial , ‘Mahakumbh’ did really well and my Telegu movie Rx 100 has become superhit and I’ve become an overnight star in south. So things have been working really well for me. I am really happy. I will be completing the shoot of two more punjabi movies and then will be going to south. I won’t be doing television for now and I would be doing more of films after this.

Q. Tell us something about your future projects.

A. I am doing two more Punjabi comedy movies- ‘Marriage Palace’ and ‘Hanji-Hanji’. After completing their shoot I’ll be going to south in October for my next Telegu film.

Q. What are your expectations from the movie?

A. I am hoping and expecting that people really like the film. I am very excited for the release and looking forward to people’s response to the film after its release on Independence Day.
