Mukul Dev, Beloved Film and TV Actor, Dies at 54

Mukul Dev Death News: Indian cinema has lost a familiar face and a talented performer. Mukul Dev, a well-known actor who contributed to Hindi, Punjabi, and South Indian films, has died at the age of 54. His death has left colleagues and fans reflecting on the enduring warmth and talent he brought to his work.

The news was shared by actor Vindu Dara Singh, who said Dev had been unwell and largely reclusive after losing his parents. “He was hospitalized recently. It's heartbreaking,” Singh stated. In an emotional tweet, he called Dev’s upcoming film Son of Sardaar 2 his “swansong.”

Other industry figures also paid tribute. “Gone too soon,” tweeted actor Manoj Bajpayee. “Praying for his family and everyone grieving this loss.”

Born on September 17, 1970, in New Delhi, Mukul Dev was a graduate of St. Columba’s School and trained in aeronautics before transitioning to acting. His breakout came in 1996 with both TV and film debuts. He steadily built a portfolio of diverse roles in films like Yamla Pagla Deewana and 21 Sarfarosh - Saragarhi 1897.

With his passing, Indian cinema loses not just an actor, but a man who loved his craft, never chased stardom, and found his own quiet success.
