The wave of Punjabi cinema is in the direction of good content and new stories. The Punjabi film industry is growing year after year, and bringing fresh and quality content for the audience. In 2023 many strong themed films like Kali Jotta and Chal Jindiye released, which gives a real time proof of performance and content oriented approach of the Punjabi cinema.

Neeru Bajwa is the queen of Punjabi film world and the actress has been ruling the industry for almost two decades now. Along with being a brilliant actor, Bajwa has shown her talent in the field of direction and production as well. The star is now a full fledged producer in the Punjabi industry and runs her own home production banner- Neeru Bajwa Entertainment.

After bringing two stupendous stories this year, Bajwa is all ready for another big project. After dropping Kali Jotta and Chal Jindiye this year, Bajwa announced a new film with again an out-of-box concept. The title of this new movie is Buhey Bariyan. The film was first announced in April this year.

The makers of the film had announced a September release of the movie while making the film announcement. Earlier the date of release was scheduled for 29 September 2023, which has now been changed by two weeks. The new release date of the film is out and Buhey Bariyan is now slated to release in the cinemas on 15 September 2023. According to the poster of the film, the film indicates a period drama set up in the rural backdrop.

Buhey Bariyan has been written by Jagdeep Warring and has been directed by Uday Pratap Singh. The film is being made under the banners of Neeru Bajwa Entertainment, U&I Films and Lienniaz Entertainment.

The film stars Neeru Bajwa in the lead. The movie will be a multi starrer with many polished actors including Nirmal Rishi, Rubina Bajwa, Jatinder Kaur, Simone Singh, Rupinder Rupi, Gurpreet Bhangu, Seema Kaushal,  Baljinder Kaur and Dharminder Kaur.

The unique part about this film is that no male star has been mentioned in the starcast of the film. This clearly suggests that this movie will be a women-oriented drama film. It will be interesting to have a Punjabi film with an all women starcast. The audience is looking forward to this one of its kind project.
