Ni Main Sass Kuttni: Comedy spanning across four generations

Ni Main Sass Kuttni: The multi-starer Punjabi comedy movie released in the cinema halls yesterday.

"Ni aah tel na pi, nooh da khoon pi..." [Don't drink this oil. Drink your daughter-in-law's blood]

The foundation of recently released Punjabi movie titled 'Ni Main Sass Kuttni' is formed on such dialogues which are mostly delivered in a bickering manner.

A movie in which tried and tested female actors do the heavylifting as far as getting the comic timing right is concerned, Ni Main Sass Kuttni does well at generating comedy from actors who are representing four different generations in the movie. The successfully implemented prospect is both rare and refreshing.

An archetype scenario of mother-in-laws daughter-in-laws bandy words with each other forms some of the best and most amusing scenes of the movie.

Written by Raju Verma and directed by Parveen Kumar, Ni Main Sass Kuttni can also be defined as an extended version of extravagant marriage settings and festivities. The first 30 minutes or so involves multiple well-directed marriage sequences and characters engaging in entertaining bolis.

Singer-turned-actor Mehtab Virk and actor Tanvi Nagi, both of whom play a lead role in a feature movie for the first time, put on display an adorable romantic chemistry. Seasoned campaigners namely Gurpreet Ghuggi and Karamjit Anmol manage to register yet another assued performance in Ni Main Sass Kuttni.

In the larger picture, Ni Main Sass Kuttni encompasses of arguments, disagreements and squabbles only for all of this to be solved and provided solutions for as the movie progresses. It is particularly in the second half that the makers attempt to divulge the emotional element to promote lessons of family bonding, togetheness and unity.
