‘Nikka Zaildar 2’, the sequel of last year’s super-hit movie ‘Nikka Zaildar’ is all set to release tomorrow. We wrote about how this continuation is lacking the X-Factor. Having said that, the movie is expected to receive a prosperous opening due to its cast and also because it is a sequel to a Hit film and sequels tend to open well in Punjabi Cinema.
Veteran actress, Nirmal Rishi, who exercised major control over the first part is not playing as significant a role this time around. The fact that the audience looks up to her, notwithstanding her age, depicts why she has become such a big name in the Punjabi industry. A lot will be expected from her this time as well.
As far as the lead actors of the movie are concerned, Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa’s chemistry is likely to be hindered by Wamiqa Gabbi. One can guess from the trailer that Virk, who is already married to Bajwa in the movie, is in line to marry Gabbi now. Perhaps, this is where the whole catch of the movie lies and this is what the audience will be looking forward to.
In an interview during the promotion of the movie, Virk laid emphasis on how this movie will rotate around a lot of emotions as well. The prequel, being a through and through comical drama, did not have much of an emotional touch in it.
Late Kishore Sharma, who passed away earlier this year will be missed in Nikka Zaildar 2. He had played the role of Nikka’s grandfather in the 1st instalment. Karamjit Anmol, who successfully portrayed the character of Bhola (Virk’s friend) is likely to be missed as well this time around. However, the inclusion of Sardar Sohi and Rana Ranbir, both of whom are tried and tested names in the Punjabi film industry, in the second part, are likely to cover those voids.
The brains behind the movie remain the same, i.e., the movie is directed by Simerjit Singh and the story, screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Jagdeep Sidhu. Apart from the above mentioned actors, Anita Devgan, Gurpreet Bhangu, Gurmeet Sajan, Baninder Bunny, Harry Sangha and Parkash Gadhu will be seen playing significant roles in the movie. The editing is done by Omkarnath Bhakri. Gurmeet Singh is the music director of the movie.
