Oye Makhna: Ammy Virk and Tania's Simerjit Singh directorial gets a title and release date

Oye Makhna: Director Simerjit Singh will finally have a theatrical release after as many as three years.

Originally announced as an untitled movie just over five months ago, singer-actor-producer Ammy Virk and actor Tania's upcoming movie has been titled 'Oye Makhna'.

The announcement was made by Virk by sharing the title poster of the movie across his social media handles last evening.

Oye Makhna has been directed by Simerjit Singh and will be his first theatrical release in almost three years.

Virk, who had made his acting debut in Simerjit's 'Angrej' (2015), has also worked with him in the 'Nikka Zaildar' series and 'Muklawa' (2019). Tania, on the other hand, has worked with Simerjit in the unreleased Punjabi movie titled 'Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2'.

As far as Virk and Tania are concerned, they have worked with each other for the fourth time in this movie after 'Qismat' (2018), 'Sufna' (2020) and 'Qismat 2' (2021). In addition to these two, Oye Makhna also stars Sidhika Sharma and Guggu Gill in pivotal roles.

Readers must note that renowned music label Saregama will be foraying into the Punjabi film industry for the first time with Oye Makhna. Saregama, who make films under the banner of Yodlee Films, have co-produced the movie with Virk and Simerjit. Punjabi Mania understands that Saregama will also be producing Punjabi movies alongside superstars Gippy Grewal and Amrinder Gill in the future.

As far as the release date of Oye Makhna is concerned, the makers have managed to find a solo release date (for now) in September 9.
