Punjabi movie titled 'Padma Shri Kaur Singh' is next in line to release in the cinema halls across the globe tomorrow. The trailer of the movie had released on the official YouTube channel of Tips Punjabi just over three weeks ago. At the time of writing this article, it has received in vicinity of 3.5 million views on the same platform.

Returning to the big screen after as many as six years, Karam Batth is playing the titular role in Padma Shri Kaur Singh. In addition to Batth, the movie stars Prabh Grewal, Raj Kakra, Malkeet Rauni, Sukhwinder Chahal, Baninder Bunny, Gurpreet Bhangu, Seema Kaushal and Sukhbir Gill in pivotal roles.

Having made his directorial debut in the Punjabi film industry with 'Sat Shri Akaal England' (2017), Vikram Pradhan is back with his second Punjabi movie as a director. While Pradhan has also written the script and screenplay of the movie, Jagdeep Singh Warring has worked on the dialogues of the movie.

Padma Shri Kaur Singh will be added to a slender list of sports biopics in the Punjabi film industry. For the unversed, it is noteworthy that the movie is a biopic of legendary Indian boxer Kaur Singh.

In addition to winning gold medals in various Asian Games and later being conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri award by the Government of India, Kaur Singh is famously known for combating against legendary boxer Muhammad Ali in an exhibition match in Delhi.

An outright adaptation of Kaur Singh's life, Padma Shri Kaur Singh will illustrate sequences from his life right from his days in the village to joining the Indian Army to taking boxing as a career to life after retirement.

Readers must also note that Batth has himself produced Padma Shri Kaur Singh alongside Vicky Mann. While no other Punjabi movie is releasing on this Friday, Padma Shri Kaur Singh will receive competition at the box-office from Karan Malhotra's 'Shamshera'.
