PUNJABI MANIA EXCLUSIVE: Ammy Virk-starer 'Chhalle Mundiyaan' headed straight to OTT

Chhalle Mundiyaan: The unreleased Punjabi movie first was first announced around four years ago.

It was around four years ago that Patiala Motion Pictures had announced a movie titled 'Chhalle Mundiyaan'.

While the makers had begun shooting for the movie in the last quarter of 2018, not many updates around the movie have reached the public domain since the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of another schedule of the movie been shot in mid-2019, there still remained a general perception around the pending shoot of Chhalle Mundiyaan.

Directed by Sunil Puri, star cast of the movie comprised of popular names in Ammy Virk, Mandy Takhar, Kulwinder Billa, Sonia Kour, Karamjit Anmol and BN Sharma.

Chhalle Mundiyaan release date

It is noteworthy that Chhalle Mundiyaan is back in news after an elongated lull. Sources close to Punjabi Mania have revealed that the movie is headed for a direct-to-digital release.

While the release date and other details around Chhalle Mundiyaan are yet to be revealed, it will be superstar Ammy Virk's first direct-to-digital release. Readers must note that Virk has already had five theartrical releases as a lead actor in 2022. With most of them not working at the box-office in real sense, perhaps the decision of releasing Chhalle Mundiyaan online is because of the same.

Other than Chaupal Originals, Punjabi movies such as 'Mera Vyah Kara Do', 'Sass Meri Ne Munda Jameya' and 'Beautiful Billo' have already released directly on an OTT platform this year.

'Kaun Aa Yaar..?' also preparing for digital release

In addition to Chhalle Mundiyaan, another Punjabi movie which is highly likely to not get a theatrical release is 'Kaun Aa Yaar..?'.

Originally announced over three years ago, Kaun Aa Yaar..? would've been the directorial debut of writer Jass Grewal had it released back in the day. However, with Grewal's 'Bajre Da Sitta' releasing earlier this year, Kaun Aa Yaar..? will now be his second movie as a director.

Produced by Ammy Virk's brother Bhagwant Pal Virk under the label of Villagers Film Studio, the movie stars singer-actor Jassie Gill and actor Wamiqa Gabbi in lead roles.
