Much hyped Jimmy Sheirgill-Neha Dhupia starrer ‘Rangeelay’ which hit the theatres today saw an average response at the ticket window. The film failed to attract the audiences towards the theatres in large numbers on its opening day which was not expected as the film featured some very big names like Jimmy Sheirgill, Binnu Dhillon and Jaswinder Bhalla. Also it is directed by Navaniat Singh who has earlier created history with Jimmy Sheirgill and was coming of a fresh success with Singh V/S Kaur.

The occupancy at the multiplexes was around 60-65% whereas single screens had mixed response. In Tier A areas the single screens had around 20-30 % opening and in Tier B and C areas the opening was about 60-65% which is not a healthy sign for the film. Also the film has opened to mixed reviews from critics all around. The film which was expected to challenge the first day record of Jatt & Juliet will now have to settle with a number much lesser than that one.
