Singer Kaka Files Complaint Against Gurkaran Dhaliwal and Pinky Dhaliwal for Fraud and Extortion

Pinky Dhaliwal Controversy: Renowned Punjabi singer and director of Kaka Ji Records Pvt. Ltd., Ravinder Singh, popularly known as Kaka, has filed a police complaint against Gurkaran Dhaliwal and Pinky Dhaliwal, directors of Sky Digital India Pvt. Ltd., for multiple criminal offenses, including cheating, breach of trust, dishonest misappropriation of property, forgery, fraud, extortion, criminal intimidation, and violations under the Copyright Act and IT Act.

In his complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mohali, Punjab, Kaka has alleged that the accused approached him in 2021 with false promises of monetizing, distributing, and promoting his music on platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, Gaana, and Wynk. Based on these assurances, Kaka signed a 3-year contract and transferred exclusive access to his digital accounts. However, Sky Digital failed to honor their financial commitments, paying only ?2.50 crores out of the promised ?6.30 crores.

Despite fulfilling his contractual obligations by delivering 20 songs—exceeding the agreed 18 songs—Kaka alleges that Sky Digital withheld revenue, manipulated financial statements, and presented forged reports to underreport earnings. Furthermore, it is alleged that the accused misappropriated around ?1.40 crores and threatened Kaka with physical harm when he sought legal action.

Kaka also claims that the accused illegally retained his YouTube channel and digital assets, demanding four additional songs or a ransom of ?2 crores to release his passwords and intellectual property. Despite issuing a formal termination notice on 5 August 2024 and a legal notice on 28 February 2025, Sky Digital has allegedly continued its unlawful activities.

Kaka has urged the authorities to take strict legal action against Gurkaran Dhaliwal and Pinky Dhaliwal and register an FIR for the alleged offenses.
