Punjabi film Saadey CM Saab which was all set to release on this Friday (October 30) has not released. The news was very clear from the fact that after the Official Posters were released around 45 days back which stated the release date of the film as October 30, 2015. However, on October 25th Harbhajan Maan the lead actor of the film just posted a status on his Facebook page which said that the film had been pushed ahead and the new date shall be announced very soon.

Well, if reports are to be believed then the film has been pushed ahead so as to avoid the already jam-packed weekend which has seen as many as 11 releases in Punjab/Haryana (Hindi, Punjabi, English, Haryanvi). Also there is competition from 3 holdover films from previous weekends. So I would call it a rather smart move from the producers to push the release of the film ahead so as to get a better release weekend that this one atleast. Also as per my knowledge of cinema, films tend to bomb more in these 20 days b/w Dusshera and Diwali due to various factors. Last time a major film which was a HIT in the Punjab region releasing in this 20 day period was ‘Jab We Met’ way back in 2007.

Also, what we’ve heard is that the makers are not happy with the final product of the film, so just to get a better release and screen space the film has been pushed ahead indefinitely.
