Gurpanth Maan, the younger brother of legendary Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan, passed away on Sunday after battling illness for nearly two months. He was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mohali and breathed his last earlier today.
The news of his demise has left the Punjabi music and entertainment fraternity in shock, with tributes pouring in for the grieving Maan family.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann arrived in Chandigarh to offer his condolences in person. He was seen attending the cremation ceremony and consoling Gurdas Maan and his family members.
"I share in the grief of Gurdas Maan ji and his family. Losing a loved one is always heartbreaking. May Waheguru grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family," the Chief Minister said in a brief statement.
The late Gurpanth Maan was known to have maintained a low profile, staying away from the limelight that surrounded his elder brother. However, he was reportedly an important pillar of support in the singer’s personal and professional life.
The final rites were performed at a crematorium in Chandigarh in the presence of close family members, friends, and well-wishers.
