Popular Indian rapper Badshah is facing massive backlash online after making an inappropriate and controversial remark about British pop sensation Dua Lipa on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
What began as a seemingly harmless post—Badshah tweeting “Dua Lipa” with a red heart emoji—quickly spiraled into controversy after a fan asked if he was hinting at a musical collaboration. The rapper’s response stunned many: “I’d rather make babies with her bro.”
The remark was immediately panned by users, who called it "disgusting", "cringe-worthy", and "wildly inappropriate". One user slammed Badshah with a sharp retort: “Weight ke sath brain bhi loss hogaya iska [Along with weight, his brain also got lost].”
Another tweet that went viral read: “You're one tweet away from turning rapper into a registered offender. Chill, Casanova. This ain't confidence, it's a midlife crisis with WiFi. From DJ Waley Babu to delusional uncle, what a fall from mic to madness.”
Many pointed out that celebrities with large followings should exercise more responsibility and maturity on public platforms, especially when addressing or mentioning global figures. Several netizens also raised concerns about casual sexism and objectification in the entertainment industry.
As of now, Badshah has not issued any apology or clarification, and the tweet remains online. Critics argue that such comments not only damage reputations but also reinforce toxic behaviour patterns among impressionable fans.
This is not the first time the rapper has been embroiled in online criticism, but fans and followers say this one has clearly crossed the line.
