Bigg Boss 20 began on 6 September with a premiere built around entrances, an audience decision and a rule that could change the early game. Salman Khan introduced the cast one by one. Love Gill beat Rhiya Aher in the audience vote for a place in the house, and Bigg Boss later told the new housemates that each would have two lives. By the end of the night, even beds and chores were giving viewers the first clues about how this group might live together.
The audience chooses a housemate
Kanika Mann entered first, danced onto the stage and told Salman that she expected many house fights to start in the kitchen. Aasif Khan followed and spoke about his journey from a junior artist on Salman’s film Ready to sharing the stage with him. Qazi Touqeer brought music to his entrance, while Isha Rikhi spoke about moving forward after a difficult past relationship. Each introduction gave the cast a different public starting point; none yet showed how they would handle weeks inside the house.
Love takes the audience route
Love Gill and Rhiya Aher had a different path to the premiere. Salman presented their entry as a viewer choice, and Love received more votes. Salman asked Love to live up to that support. It gives Love an early audience-backed identity in a house where others arrived through their own careers and followings. The vote decided who entered; it was not a judgment on the rest of the season.
A cast drawn from very different worlds
Mary Kom came to the stage with her sons and received a message from Priyanka Chopra. Bhojpuri actor Amrapali Dubey had a surprise visit from Dinesh Lal Yadav. Rapper Yung DSA, gamer ScoutOP, Arishfa Khan, Uditi Singh, Aman Gandhi, Gullu, Rohed Khan and singer-composer Rhiti Tiwari added sport, television, music and online audiences to the mix. Mahhi Vij arrived last after, as the written recaps report, turning down earlier approaches to join the show.
Two lives, one shared house
The season’s central rule was introduced after the entrances: every contestant had two lives. Bigg Boss briefly unsettled the house by asking whose chance should be taken away, then revealed that the immediate choice was a joke. The rule itself remained. It suggests that an early setback may not always end a contestant’s run, but the premiere did not establish every way the twist would operate. Later episodes would have to show its practical effect.

The first small disagreements
Inside the house, Qazi quickly claimed the only single bed and said he did not want to share it. Mary and Arishfa questioned the choice. Separately, Love, Aman and Arishfa noticed Mahhi asking others to do work for her and discussed it. Neither moment settled into a lasting rivalry on premiere night. They did show how the ordinary problems of sharing rooms and duties can become visible before the first major task.
Our take
The premiere offered a useful starting map: Love had a public vote behind her, Kanika received an early strategic opportunity, and the two-lives rule promised another layer of choice. The most telling scenes were smaller. Qazi’s bed and Mahhi’s requests showed that the cast was already testing boundaries while still learning one another’s names. Follow those threads through the next updates rather than treating a first impression as a fixed alliance.
