Navaniat Singh's 'Tera Mera Ki Rishta' was a star-studded affair, perhaps the first of its kind, which was released in 2009. The movie was a typical example of the fact that mainstream love stories can also be made with immense finesse. In which was both a critically and a commercially acclaimed movie, it gained accolades in both Punjab and overseas. The movie starred Jimmy Sheirgill, Kulraj Randhawa, Anupam Kher, Archana Puran Singh, Raj Babbar, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Rana Ranbir, Binnu Dhillon and others. Meet (Sheirgill), an unafraid and daredevil boy from Vancouver, and Rajjo (Randhawa), a girl deeply rooted to the values and culture of Punjab, fall in love with each other. The story covers the ebbs and flows of their love story and how Meet refuses to bow down before his fate in a bid to attain the love of his life.
