Ed Sheeran Teams Up with Karan Aujla for English-Punjabi Track, Video Shot in New York

Pop superstar Ed Sheeran has officially confirmed his latest musical crossover—this time with Punjabi sensation Karan Aujla. The duo has collaborated on an English-Punjabi track that is expected to be released in October, with its music video already filmed in New York.

The project marks Sheeran’s continued exploration of South Asian music. After his earlier ventures with Diljit Dosanjh on Lover and with Arijit Singh on Sapphire, this track adds another chapter to his growing connection with Punjabi sounds.

In a recent conversation with BBC Asian Network, Sheeran revealed how naturally the collaboration came together.
“The first time I tried Punjabi was on Lover with Diljit, then with Arijit. Now with Karan, we’ve created something that blends both worlds. We shot the video last week in New York, and it should be out in October,” he shared.

Sheeran described Punjabi as one of the most expressive languages he has sung in, noting its lyrical beauty.
“Even without melody, it feels so poetic. When you translate lines from English, they don’t always carry the same weight. But in Punjabi, everything sounds richer and more meaningful,” he said.

He also praised Aujla’s dedication during the recording sessions. “Karan sat with me and made sure I got every pronunciation right. I told him to be brutally honest, and he was—which made the song even better. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

For Karan Aujla, the collaboration is another milestone in what he has called one of the most defining years of his career. The singer-songwriter revealed that the project is deeply personal, representing years of creative effort.

Aujla is also gearing up for his debut at Rolling Loud India in November 2025, where he will share the stage with global acts like Don Toliver and Westside Gunn at Loud Park in Navi Mumbai.

With Sheeran’s global fanbase and Aujla’s powerful songwriting, the track is already being seen as a landmark crossover in the international music scene.
