In a landmark deal for Indian streaming content, Netflix has secured the digital rights for the Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar for an unprecedented Rs 285 crore. This acquisition sets a new high in the OTT market, surpassing the previous record held by Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Dhurandhar, released in December 2025, became a massive box-office success, grossing over Rs 1,000 crore globally and establishing itself as one of the highest-earning Hindi films to date. Netflix’s move allows audiences to watch the espionage thriller from the comfort of their homes in the near future.
While reports indicate that the Rs 285 crore agreement could potentially cover the entire Dhurandhar duology, some sources suggest it is specifically for Part 1. The film is expected to debut on Netflix between January 16 and January 30, 2026.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, known for Uri: The Surgical Strike, Dhurandhar features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. The thriller draws inspiration from real-life intelligence missions, focusing on covert operations carried out by Indian agencies in Pakistan.
Fans can also anticipate the sequel, Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, promising another round of high-octane action and suspense.
