Chandigarh: With the release of their upcoming film Mehar around the corner, actors Raj Kundra and Geeta Basra called on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and his wife, Dr. Gurpreet Kau,r in Chandigarh. The meeting took place just weeks before the film is set to hit theatres on September 5, 2025.
Kundra was accompanied by his wife and Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, while Basra was joined by her husband, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh. The interaction was described as warm and cordial, with the celebrities briefing the Chief Minister about the storyline of the film and its cultural connection with Punjab.
CM Mann appreciated the effort of the film team in promoting cinema that carries social relevance and resonates with Punjabi values. Sources said the Chief Minister extended his best wishes for the success of Mehar, adding that films can play an important role in spreading meaningful messages to society.
The film’s team also shared that Mehar is expected to strike a chord with audiences by combining powerful performances with a strong narrative. With its release date drawing close, the meeting with the Punjab CM is being seen as a morale booster for the cast and crew.
