Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda remains in a critical condition at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, following a serious road accident in Pinjore, Haryana, last week. Hospital officials confirmed Monday that the singer has been kept on ventilator support for a third consecutive day as doctors continue to monitor his condition closely.
Jawanda, a popular name in Punjabi music, sustained severe head and spinal injuries after a motorcycle mishap on Friday. According to sources, he was riding with four others when an animal suddenly came in their path, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and fall, striking his head on the road surface.
Medical Update: Stable But Unconscious
A statement from Fortis Hospital noted that while his condition remains extremely serious, there has been slight improvement, allowing doctors to gradually reduce life support measures. Currently, Jawanda is unconscious, but his vitals are being maintained with the help of a dedicated team of critical care specialists and neurosurgeons.
“His condition continues to be critical, though there are signs of stabilization,” the hospital said in a bulletin. “All necessary interventions are underway.”
CM Bhagwant Mann Pays a Visit
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Fortis Hospital on Sunday to check on Jawanda’s condition. He met with both the doctors and the family and later told reporters that one of the life-support systems had been removed, suggesting marginal improvement.
“Yesterday, he was on four machines, including cardiac support. Today, one has been removed. He’s still not conscious, but the situation looks more hopeful than before,” the CM said.
Mann praised Jawanda’s contribution to Punjabi music and urged people to stop spreading false rumors online, which he said were adding to the family’s distress.
