As soon as Apple announced iPhone X’s launch price of $999 in the US, we started wondering if our prediction of its India price touching Rs. 1 lac will actually come true, and it did! The top iPhone X model (256GB) is the first smartphone to cross the six digit figure in India. Even the ‘less expensive’ 64GB model is priced at a heartbreaking Rs. 89,000. Please note that there are just configurations – 64GB and 256GB.

Now to the good news! iPhone X is the first iPhone that will be launched in India at the same time as its global launch on 3 November. So if you have a shit load of money, then you can be among the first people in the world to own the amazing iPhone X. But be quick with your pre-orders as the supplies are expected to be extremely limited.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

We expected the iPhone 8 models to be launched at the same price range as the iPhone 7 and it’s pretty close. The base models of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus start at Rs. 64,000 and Rs. 73,000 respectively. That’s an increase of a couple of thousands for previous generations models, but that’s understandable. Here again, you only have 64GB and 256GB options.

India won’t be among the first countries to get the iPhone 8 series, but we’ll have to wait only a week longer as the official launch date has been set for September 29. We haven’t heard anything about pre-orders yet but most likely, it will be announced soon.
