Punjab CM allows permission to shoot films: The film industry has received the permission to resume shootings across the state.
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has allowed permission to shoot films and music videos in the state. While some singers had pursued 'Work from Home' during the COVID-19 lockdown, the film industry can now resume their work on an archetype film set.
Since the start of the lockdown, shootings were barred in the state in the wake of the threat caused by the novel COVID-19 pandemic. In times of social distancing and isolation, shooting a movie seemed to have become a distant reality.
Punjab CM allows permission to shoot films
The significant development was announced by the Chief Minister during his customary LIVE session across social media platforms where he solves people's queries regarding the global crisis.
The topic came up after the CM read a question around the shooting of films from the list of questions. Apart from giving the permission, the CM also announced that he will inform the DCs so as to no one faces any restriction with respect to shooting films.
While Punjab has done well to combat the virus, it has still not completely got rid of the same. Therefore, the film fraternity is expected to follow all guidelines in a bid to remain safe and healthy while shooting films.
The film industry is among the many industries which have suffered financially due to the coronavirus pandemic. With shootings being allowed to resume, the next much-awaited news would be regarding the opening of cinema halls not just in Punjab but across the country.
