Emergency Movie Controversy Latest News: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), and Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) strongly objected to the release of Kangna Ranaut's upcoming movie "Emergency".
The DSGMC strongly objected to "the deliberate attempt by Kangna Ranaut, Director, and Co-Producer to misrepresent Sikhs as the separatists in her upcoming movie 'Emergency'".
The DGSMC observed that an anti-Sikh narrative about the martyrs of June 1984 was being created and this film was trying to character assassinate Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale. It also appealed to the Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) to cut all those scenes that could hurt the Sikh sentiments as they believed that the film could cause a lot of anger and resentment in the Sikh community.
On the other hand, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has demanded an immediate ban on the film 'Emergency', which portrays the character of Sikhs in a wrong way.
He said that this film was made by actress Kangana Ranaut, who remains in controversy due to her anti-Sikh and anti-Punjab expressions, with the intention of deliberately character assassinating Sikhs, which the Sikh community cannot tolerate.
