Gurinder Dimpy death: Punjabi actor-writer-director passes away aged 47

Gurinder Dimpy death: The renowned multi-talented Punjabi artist breathed his last this morning.

Punjabi entertainment industry has been handed with a major blow with the shocking and unfortunate demise of multi-talented artist Gurinder Dimpy.

Dimpy, 47, breathed his last this morning. While the exact cause of his death remains unknown for now, writer-director Amarjit Singh Saron's Facebook post hints at an illness.

Dimpy, who first gained prominence for his role as Saadhu Singh in Gunbir Singh Grewal's 'Mannat(2006), had made his directorial debut with 'Kabaddi Ikk Mohabbat(2010).

Having acted in successful movies such as 'Laung Laachi(2018), 'Carry On Jatta 2' (2018), 'Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan(2018) and 'Jhalle(2019) among others over the years, Dimpy had written 'Moosa Jatt(2021) and 'Lover(only dialogues, 2022) to kick-start his writing career in the last one year or so.

Dimpy, who has quite a few unreleased movies in various capacities, has become the fourth active Punjabi artist after Kaka Kautki, Deep Sidhu and Sidhu Moose Wala to go to one's last resting place in the last one year.
