Diljit Dosanjh Mumbai Concert: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has received a notice from the Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, instructing him and his management to refrain from involving children in stage performances. The notice also prohibits songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence.
The commission referred to a Punjab and Haryana High Court order from July 22, 2019, emphasizing the need for artists to ensure their performances comply with child protection laws.
The notice was prompted by a complaint from Panditrao Dharenwar, who alleged that some aspects of Diljit’s performances could harm young audiences. In a related move, the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Mumbai, also issued a notice urging organizers to avoid promoting substances like alcohol and gutka during the singer’s live shows.
The directives highlight concerns about the potential negative influence of entertainment content on children, pushing for stricter oversight of public performances. Diljit Dosanjh has not yet commented on the matter.
