Kulraj Randhawa starrer Needhi Singh which opened in Cinemas worldwide last friday, has taken a lacklustre opening at the Box Office. The occupancies were very low at cinemas and many of the shows were cancelled on Saturday itself due to lack of interest in the audiences. You cannot blame the subject of the film for the lack of opening. Many female-centric films have done well all over India. Even in our own Punjabi Industry, Channo Kamli Yaar Di opened decently in cinemas earlier this year. That film had Neeru Bajwa as the central character.

Needhi Singh collected Rs. 17,00,000 Gross in it’s opening weekend in East Punjab region. In overseas markets, the film wasn’t released in many screens. In North America the film was released on a mere 10 screens and there too the film were sharing screens with other films. The collections in US/Canada region were US$ 4727 (Rs. 3,26,163).

For the record, Our team saw the film in Chandigarh on a Saturday evening show and there were just 9 people in the hall.
