Harman Aggarwal, who has previously made short film Fees, is this time presenting another short film Desire. Punjabi Mania interviewed him about his upcoming venture.
Q. Tell us about short film Desire.
Desire is a story of a girl who has a dark complexion. She sells candles outside a church and has desires to be rich and beautiful.
Q. How are you associated with the film?
This film is directed by my assistant Neetu (Navneet). Its her first short film. I am co-producing this film along with Beant Deol. Also Aggarwal Films is presenting it to festivals and later to public.
Q. Where are you planning to showcase the film?
We are sending this film to many National and International film festivals, Including PIFF|IFFSA Toronto. We are hopeful about the selection of the film in festivals there.
Q You have made short films before, and this time you are presenting one. How do you see short films in the commercial run?
I have worked for TV for many years and being a journalist I have watched many films with good social causes. Agreed short films have small duration but they have the potential to entertain you in the same way.. Unfortunately there are no commercial returns from short films but it helps new directors to showcase their work which helps them in bagging feature films. Also sometimes it rewards you with some money by festival and online platforms.
Q. Your upcoming projects?
There are many projects in the pipeline. Hopefully the web series of Bio-docs will start next month. A Punjabi Feature is also ready to go on floor, film’s script is ready and very soon we will announce it.
