White Hill Studios, a hot-shot name in the Punjabi film industry, known for making films like Carry On Jatta 2, Jatt & Juliet series, Sardaarji series, Channa Mereya & Saab Bahadar have finally received the legal right to release Jagdeep Sidhu’s ‘Qismat’ which hits the cinemas this Friday i.e. September 21. With the release of the movie only a few days away, it has eventually managed to get bailed out from a controversy which could have put a halt to its release.
The controversy dates back to last week when Omjee Group had filed a case against the Producers (Shri Narotam Ji Production) of the movie regarding its distribution rights. It is said that Qismat’s distribution deal was initially signed with the Omjee Group. However, the Publicity Material of the film suggested otherwise that White Hill Studios are the Distributors of the film.
The case was in the court of Amit Thind, Civil Judge Senior Division, District Court of Punjab. The verdict was taken a few hours ago. In what has come as a relief for both the parties, producers and the fans of the Punjabi industry, the parties involved decided on a harmonious compromise, with the producers handing over a cheque of the above mentioned amount to the Omjee Group.
However, putting all controversies to rest QISMAT starring Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta in lead roles, is now releasing as per it’s original schedule worldwide on 21st September fighting all sorts of negativity around and shall be released worldwide by White Hill Studios. The film is produced under the banner of Shri Narotam Ji Production (Ankit Vijan, Navdeep Narula, Jatinder Aulukh, Shubham Goyal) and written & directed by Jagdeep Sidhu.
