Two days after the premiere introduced the idea that every housemate had two lives, Bigg Boss 20 began putting that rule to work. The 8 September episode narrowed the first captaincy race to three contenders, opened the 2X room and ended with four contestants facing an audience vote. For now, the stated consequence is the loss of a life, not an immediate eviction.
Qazi and Yung’s argument follows the task into the captaincy race
The task that began on the previous day continued with Qazi acting as sanchalak. Yung challenged how he was handling it, while Love objected when Qazi pointed at her after she, Mahhi and Rhiti left a round. That is a continuation of the friction already visible on the first full day: Qazi had lost his own chance to compete for captaincy after Kanika used the power she received on premiere night.
The task grew tighter as the capacity of the plate was reduced first to three pieces and then to two. The two written accounts agree on the outcome: Gullu, Aasif and Yung reached the first captaincy round. They also report Qazi disqualifying Arishfa, Kanika and ScoutOP as the task moved toward that result.
The 2X room gives the finalists a difficult choice
Bigg Boss then showed the three contenders the 2X room. One door could grant a life and the other could take one away. Because everyone already held two lives, the contenders were told they could only choose whom they would target to lose a life if they gained that power.
The reported choices were revealing: Aasif named Arishfa, Gullu chose Uditi, and Yung chose Kanika. Gullu later told Uditi that he chose her because they had not spoken much. Uditi was unhappy with his explanation. These were the contenders’ choices inside the captaincy twist; they were separate from the nominations that came later.
Four names emerge from the first nominations
Housemates then entered the nomination room one at a time to choose two people. The published accounts list Isha naming ScoutOP and Qazi; Arishfa naming Mahhi and Amrapali; Love naming Gullu and Kanika; and Yung naming Love and Arishfa, among the other votes. Rhiti apologised to Mary Kom after naming her, but Bigg Boss challenged the apology as inconsistent with an open game.
After the votes were counted, Love, Arishfa, Kanika and Uditi were nominated. Bigg Boss said the audience would decide which one lost a life. The distinction matters: the premiere’s two-lives rule means a nomination result does not by itself tell us that someone has left the house. The page’s house status will change only after a later episode confirms what happened.
Arishfa told Yung she had considered him a friend and had not expected him to nominate her. The moment gave the vote a personal cost beyond the tally: one of the first alliances viewers might have imagined was already under strain.
Our take
The 2X room made the premiere twist feel like an actual game mechanic. It forced the captaincy contenders to show their thinking before the audience had even seen a captain chosen. The first nominations then put four people in a different kind of danger, and the next episode needs to show whether those choices reshape the house or simply harden existing disagreements.
