A forgery case has been filed against Punjabi Actor/Singer Gippy Grewal and two others in Chandigarh District Court. The case has been filed under sections 406, 420 and 120 BC of IPC.

The complaint was filed by Raman Aggarwal of Aman Advertisements Pvt. Ltd. According to the complainant, his company did ground advertisements for Jatt James Bond, which included erecting hoardings at public places. The deal was worth INR 7 Lakhs. Rupees 2 Lakhs were given initially but the cheque of remaining 5 lakhs bounced twice.

The complainant has made Gippy Grewal along with Girish and Pushpinder Singh alias Happy, both from Barnala the parties in the case. The complainant has said that they are trying to escape the responsibility of paying  us back.

However, Gippy Grewal has said he has nothing to do with the case.

A criminal complaint seeking registration of a case of fraud and forgery has been filed against Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal in court today. The complaint has been admitted in the court and evidence was recorded today. The complaint has been filed by Aman Advertisement in Sector 26 through its Director Raman Aggarwal.

It has been alleged in the complaint filed through advocate Arvind Thakur that in February 2014, Gippy Grewal came to his office for advertising and publicity for the film ‘Jatt James Bond’. An amount of Rs 7 lakh was settled for the purpose. While an amount of Rs 2 lakh as given at that time, it was decided that the rest of the amount would be given by Garish, a resident of Barnala, who has also been made party in the complaint.

It has been alleged that after publicity of the film, the complainant requested Gippy for the remaining payment of Rs 5 lakh. A cheque was issued to him, which was dishonoured on May 24, 2014, and also on July 2. The manager of the advertisement company today told the court that Gippy Grewal used to threaten them when they used to ask him for Rs 5 lakh.

A recording of his (Gippy’s) voice threatening them and sms have also been submitted in court today. It has been prayed in the complaint that the accused be summoned and tried under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B of the IPC.

The case has now been adjourned to November 7.
