The Punjabi industry is growing and flourishing and creating a position of stature not just in Punjab, but throughout the country and across the world. With sheer passion and hard work, in the last few years, many Punjabi artists have incubated and curated a good mix of varied content, and have made their way into Bollywood which is undoubtedly the most sought after entertainment industry of the country.
After several Punjabi stars including Diljit Dosanjh, Ammy Virk, Hardy Sandhu and many more, another Punjabi Gabru is all set to enter the dazzle and sparkle of Bollywood. This artist is none other than the super talented Punjabi actor- Jagjeet Sandhu.
Sandhu started his journey as a character actor and gained major recognition through his brilliant work as a supporting artist in many Punjabi films. After gaining popularity and stardom, Sandhu stepped into mainstream lead acting in Punjabi movies. With his continuous efforts and his gifted talent, the young star is now all set and ready to make his Bollywood debut.
Jagjeet Sandhu will be playing the main antagonist in Shivam Nair’s much speculated film titled The Diplomat. The lead hero in the movie will be played by John Abraham, and Sandhu has been casted as the negative lead opposite John Abraham. The film is a geopolitical thriller and based on a real life story.
The shooting of the movie has started. The project was announced many years back, but has now finally gone on floors. The story of the film will be about the Indian Embassy in Islamabad, which saves an Indian girl in trouble, based on a real life incident. The movie will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller.
The movie has been written by popular screenwriter Ritesh Shah, who has written many superhit Bollywood films like Raid, Kahaani, Pink and Airlift. Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah and Rajesh Bahl’s Wakaoo Films is producing this film in association with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma and Girish Johar’s Fortune Pictures. It is a proud moment for the Punjabi industry to see Jagjeet Sandhu working in such a big project. More details about the film will be out soon.
