Actor Satish Kaul dies due to COVID-19: The veteran actor succumbed to the virus in Ludhiana yesterday.
Renowned actor Satish Kaul passed away due to COVID-19 yesterday. Struggling with multiple health-related concerns for some years, Kaul breathed his last at Sri Ram Charitable Hospital in Ludhiana.
“He died today morning due to COVID-19 at the hospital. He had fever and wasn’t keeping well. We admitted him to the hospital on Thursday and got him tested, where it turned out that he was COVID-19 positive,” Kaul’s sister Satya Devi was quoted as saying by PTI.
One of the first superstars of the Punjabi film industry, Kaul had worked in excess of 300 Hindi and Punjabi movies alongside many legendary names. However, monetary losses in the last few years of his life left him struggling for basic needs such as groceries and medicine. Kaul had spent the last half-a-decade or so of his life in an old-age home followed by a rented apartment.
Kaul, who had portrayed the role of Lord Indra in BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat’ (1988), will be remembered for his roles in movies such as Sassi Punnu (1977), Ishq Nimana (1984), Suhag Chooda (1988) and Patola (1988).
