Chandigarh: Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi, known for hits like 'Dil Le Gayi Kudi' and 'Laung Da Lashkara', has issued a stern warning to actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut after her controversial comments about Punjab. Kangana, during a rally in Himachal Pradesh, claimed that Punjab was struggling with drug addiction among its youth, contrasting it with Himachal Pradesh and advising the youth there not to be influenced by Punjab’s issues.
Jassi, angered by her remarks, lashed out at the actress, cautioning her to stop making negative comments about Punjab. The singer even went so far as to threaten to "expose" Kangana if she continued to speak ill of the state. He alleged that during an encounter in Delhi, Kangana had consumed a significant amount of alcohol and drugs in his car, alongside another female friend, and had completely lost control.
"I have stayed quiet for too long, but her continuous targeting of Punjab has forced me to speak up. The amount of alcohol and drugs she has consumed, I doubt anyone else has. If she doesn't stop, I’ll be forced to expose all her stories," Jassi warned.
Although Jassi expressed reluctance to shame a woman publicly, he made it clear that Kangana's repeated jibes against Punjab were crossing a line. He also criticized her mental state, saying, "No one should take Kangana seriously. She’s mentally unstable. It’s a serious concern for the nation that such people are in Parliament making decisions for the country."
The exchange has further fueled the ongoing debate about Kangana's controversial public statements and her role in political and social discourse.
